Welcome to Western Civilization (HSTR 101 & 102)
This class covers the social, cultural, religious, and economic history of Europe from the birth of Western Civilization to the present. First semester (HSTR 101) will focus on the rise of ancient civilizations, the Medieval period, the “re-birth” of the Renaissance, the Protestant Reformation, Scientific Revolution, and rise of Absolutism and Constitutionalism. Second semester (HSTR 102) will focus on the Transatlantic economy and slave trade, the birth of the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, Marxist socialism, German Unification, European New Imperialism, the Great War, the Rise of Totalitarian Dictators, World War II, the Cold War and Modern Europe. This class is designed to give you a head start on your college career by allowing you to earn six Montana University System transfer credits while still in high school.
Dual Enrollment United States History
Love 'Merica so much it hurts? Then join Team America, an elite squad of juniors who are so devoted to their motherland that they are willing to do college-level work and receive Montana University System transfer credit for their patriotism. In HSTA 101 & 102, Team America students will read, write, and perform at the college level and earn FREE college credit through Montana State University-Billings. This class is designed to give you a head start on college by giving you six college credits while you are still in high school.
